The complaints finally got to me, and I found the original files so I fixed the typos that somehow ruined it for everyone. The “Your” “You’re” replacement. This is the internet, it’s surprising how many people point out the same thing when in place it’s easy enough to just type “lololol kthxbai”.

I never once thought it would actually have this many people watching, didn’t cross my mind. So I simply left it alone.

Longest video we’ve done so far, I did some transition practice, although plot wise they’re not the best but working in the audio-before-video aspect I thought I did well. (ex. hearing a song/wrench sound before seeing the video.) And the last voice over with a different shot being played in the background (ex. Me talking to the engie while the scout captures the intel.) Practice makes perfect I guess, if anyone enjoys the vid kudos but contstructive critisizm is far more important to me.

So beggars can’t be choosers and when I’m flooded with pennies (Youtube, Wegame, Veoh) Someone throws a five dollar bill in my face when I found Gamevee. It’s still the same used car feeling when switching from a different hosting site. I brush the dust off the steering wheel and get the feeling that something isn’t the same as I stare at the huge webplayer hogging 1/5th of the screen. In most ways it’s better than vimeo ever was. Specifically targeting games, a much faster upload, and no game videos ban.

Veoh, and wegame is useless to me as Gamevee embeds. Although using it in this blog is a bad example because it crushes it.

Ok, so I’ve been testing certain codecs. Which does which with the same footage, and a few things I will not go under (mpg blurs, avi is lossless but no one wants to watch a 4 gig file.) So in the running contestant I decided to test H.264 to the quality I’ve been using so far. wmv. Certain things I noticed, ACV(h.264) distorts during fairly fast scenes/transitions. Solid text and color is better than wmv, the edges were sharp and transitions were better. With wmv the quality kept the same, no flux no distortion. But to a bright eye you can see that the solid/text scenes weren’t as clear. From the pictures above AVC has a sharper look to it, while wmv has a slight blur. The file size for AVC is almost halved compared to wmv. I would stick to wmv because AVC looks a tad funny under fast scenes. To type one-handed as I shake my fist at the only video hosting site that made me shed a tear from such amazing quality. I see how they think, time conservative methods to keep the select crowd of people who can afford cameras happy. I feel for them, I will re-join vimeo in the future when I gather up $1,000 or so dollars to afford one of those cameras. At least their not Youtube. Fun fact: The videos you see below are infact not machinima, because it lacks a linear storyline and captivative actors.

Made this after a little break from the last video. To me it isn’t a true time lapse, but I can’t get anything more than this. And my harddrive couldn’t hold anymore because each clip was about 10-12 gigs.

First actual video made. The majority of the recordings only took 1 day and no one really knew what to do unless I told them. Which is something I need to work on because when working scenes out in my head it makes it hard to explain how each scene is played out so I simply order someone to do something with no explaination. This one went alright, small bit of acting here and there but with the 1st done, we can work on more storyline type videos.

So I thought, what would fit the 1st ever blog post. Nothing. But I will stray from people who blog about their daily lives who think they’re interesting, I will however advertise every film bit that interests me including the stuff I make. Cheers.
